Recently, scholars from Jiangnan University published a study in the journal Nutrients, analyzing the relationship between dietary fat intake and cardiovascular diseases in Chinese people in the past 30 years from 1990 to 2019. In 1990, the per capita consumption was 5.74 kg of vegetable oil and 8.27 kg of animal fat, and in 2019 it increased to 25.84 kg of vegetable oil and 20.56 kg of animal oil.
If vegetable oil and animal fat are considered at the same time, the per capita daily intake of China residents has reached 127.1g, accounting for more than 30% of the total energy intake. The study also found that there is a strong linear correlation between the intake of dietary fat, especially vegetable oil, and the incidence and mortality of cardiovascular disease in China. In other words, excessive oil intake is one of the important reasons for the increase of cardiovascular diseases.
In addition, eating too greasy, the main hazards include three highs, obesity, but also affect the digestive system.

1. Long-term Kaifeng oil
Edible oil also has a shelf life. Long-term unsealed edible oil will oxidize with air, which will accelerate the deterioration of oil.
Therefore, cover the oil every time you use it, and it is recommended that you eat it within 3 months after opening the edible oil. It is also harmful to your health to ingest the deteriorated edible oil.

2. Palm oil
Palm oil is a natural oil, which comes from the tropical plant oil palm. If you often eat instant noodles, puffed food, pastry and other processed foods, it is almost inevitable that you will consume palm oil. In 2021, Nature, a top academic journal, published a study closely related to daily edible oil. Foods rich in palm oil will promote the high metastasis of cancer.
3. Re-frying oil
Repeatedly fried oil is easy to produce carcinogens, such as trans fatty acids, benzopyrene, acrylamide, heterocyclic amines, etc., which will bring health hazards if eaten for a long time.

4. Hydrogenated vegetable oil
Hydrogenated vegetable oil is an artificial oil, such as people’s creamer, margarine, cocoa butter substitute and so on.
The harm of hydrogenated vegetable oil is mainly that the trans fat content is relatively high, which is not good for cardiovascular health. Even some countries have not allowed the application of hydrogenated vegetable oil in food processing.
5. Self-extracting oil
If the small oil mill doesn’t clean the machine all the year round, it will cause grease to remain on it. Over time, these residual oils will deteriorate, and the newly squeezed oil may be polluted when using this oil press to squeeze oil.
At the same time, the pressed oil materials may be moldy, and aflatoxin may also be brought into the oil squeezed with moldy peanuts, corn, etc., which may increase the risk of liver disease or liver cancer.
