European and American countries started in the 1950s. When Sun Chenhua entered the 54th Research Institute of China Electronics Technology Corporation in 1986, China was still decades behind Europe and America in this project.
In the 32 years since he joined the work, Sun Chenhua has experienced the development process of China’s satellite communication from scratch and from weak to strong. She participated in it with a high sense of responsibility, presided over dozens of national and national defense key projects, and won 12 scientific and technological progress awards at or above the provincial and ministerial level (including 2 at the national level), ranking first in 7; In 2011, he was granted special government allowance by the State Council; In 2014, he was selected into the national 100 million talents project and was awarded the title of national young and middle-aged expert with outstanding contributions; He has won more than 10 honors at or above the municipal level, such as the National March 8th Red Flag Bearer, the Provincial May 1st Labor Medal, and the Provincial March 8th Red Flag Bearer. She has trained the top domestic satellite communication team, and made outstanding contributions to the realization of China’s satellite communication from dependent introduction to independent research and development, accelerating the major transformation of China’s creation, promoting the deep integration of military and civilian satellite communication, and promoting the development of strategic emerging industries related to satellite communication between the country and Hebei Province. In 2018, she won the National May 1st Labor Medal.
Fight for 25 years to break the monopoly
When he came to the 54th Institute, Sun Chenhua first undertook the tasks of China’s first CDMA satellite communication system and the first tactical mobile satellite communication system. At that time, advanced technology was blocked by foreign monopoly. CDMA, which relies entirely on independent research and development, has experienced "eight years of anti-Japanese war", and the tactical mobile satellite communication system is even more difficult, with nearly 10 years of efforts before and after. When she was eight months pregnant, she stood up all night to solve the problems in the joint exam, returned to work three months after giving birth, and went on a business trip for more than 40 days when the child was less than one year old … … After more than ten years’ efforts, Sun Chenhua and her research group have broken through many key technologies and cultivated an independent research and development team of the "Professional Department".
She once said, "Many people don’t understand why I work so hard. Actually, it’s not that I don’t want to rest, it’s not that I don’t want to slow down, it’s because I can’t. Opening up a professional direction requires many people to make a lot of efforts, but losing a direction may be just an instant. "
Long-term experience accumulation has also laid the foundation for breaking foreign monopoly. In 2001, Sun Chenhua received a project from a military region and became the executive deputy chief engineer of the project to take charge of the overall work. This project involves a brand-new satellite communication system MF-TDMA. This is also Sun Chenhua’s first contact with TDMA. This technology has been monopolized by foreign countries for a long time, and users designated MF-TDMA system to be imported from foreign countries.
Sun Chenhua spent two months, consulted countless materials, thoroughly studied the relevant principles and data of this system, and completed the integrated application scheme. To be prudent, she asked the foreign company to give a plan. But she was keenly aware that the scheme they gave lacked a device, without which the system could not work normally. However, the foreign agent disagreed with her opinion.
"If you insist that there is no problem, then you have to sign a memorandum with us. If I am proved right later, you have to bear all the expenses of this equipment." Sun Chenhua said confidently.
Later experiments proved that Sun Chenhua was right. It was this "memorandum" that allowed foreign companies to give them 11 sets of equipment for free, each worth about 2,000 US dollars, with a total amount of nearly 200,000 yuan.
Six months after the introduction of equipment, foreign engineers came to the institute to communicate, which surprised him at the scene. "We have been developing this system for more than 20 years, and the system is particularly complicated. It is amazing that you used this system without training!"
In view of the accumulated experience in this project, in 2002, Sun Chenhua made repeated thoughts and made up his mind to develop our own TDMA communication system.

The road to project establishment is not smooth. The overall person in charge told her: "The country has long wanted to participate in this project, but it has been afraid to participate. ‘ Generation star ’ At the time of research and development, someone mentioned this system, but eventually gave up due to technical difficulties. " However, Sun Chenhua was overcome with difficulties. "Although it is difficult, this new system must be mastered in order to develop satellite communication." She organized a team to repeatedly study and demonstrate and repeatedly do technical simulation. Then, a man carrying a big laptop went to Beijing to report and ask for instructions. After three years of hard work, the project was finally successful.
"This project has been particularly hard." Sun Chenhua said that the technical difficulty is high and the development progress has been delayed for nearly one year. But in order to hand over the most perfect equipment, she resisted the pressure and tried again and again, striving for perfection. In 2011, this dual-mode satellite communication system, which she and her team have worked hard for nearly 10 years, won the second prize of the National Science and Technology Progress Award with outstanding innovations of more than a dozen invention patents and sales revenue of nearly 500 million yuan.
A "spiritual leader" who plans development with an eye to the future.
Over the years, the projects developed by Sun Chenhua have achieved fruitful results. 15. Eleventh Five-Year Plan, Twelfth Five-Year Plan and Thirteenth Five-Year Plan … … Sun Chenhua has been researching and developing in the field of satellite communication, and has built the first three-tier and three-sided operation management control system of satellite communication in China. Her multi-beam and large-span rate range networking solution has broken through dozens of key technologies and developed more than 100 kinds of high-tech products, which has reached the domestic leading and international advanced level in general.
Spatial information resources are important strategic resources of the country. The integrated information network between heaven and earth is a major infrastructure of the country. Standing at the height of national needs, China Electric Power Branch concentrated superior resources and set up the project team of "Integration of Heaven and Earth", in which Sun Chenhua is one of the deputy chief designers.
"The needs of the unit are the greatest affirmation for me." After receiving this task, Sun Chenhua went into battle with his team: sorting out and breaking through key technologies, sorting out basic conditions at home and abroad, and formulating the overall scheme of "space-based access network" and "ground-based node network" … … With a solid technical foundation and many years of engineering experience, Sun Chenhua played an important role in the major project of "integration of heaven and earth", became the "spiritual leader" in this field, and personally built the national meridians.
In order to bring the project to xiong’an new area and promote the subsequent commercial aerospace development in Hebei Province, she innovatively put forward internationally leading low-orbit access network schemes such as combination of width and narrowness, functional integration, inter-satellite interconnection and global seamless service, and presided over the development of the test system. Presided over the completion of the ground application network scheme covering 15 points across the country. It is estimated that after 2020, the industrial chain driven by the integrated information network of heaven and earth will produce an output value of more than 3 billion yuan every year.

Since August 2016, Sun Chenhua has led the professional department to apply for more than 30 pre-research projects, of which nearly 20 pre-research projects have been won. Every project report needs to be PPT, and she should read every PPT carefully. When she has time, she will do it herself, and it will be midnight, and it is common to work until one or two o’clock in the morning. Especially before the defense, Sun Chenhua will accompany everyone to revise all kinds of documents and strive for perfection, never letting go of every detail.
She is in charge of many things and often travels. Pre-research project application, bidding and so on, many things should be concentrated on the weekend to deal with. Han Ning, director of the general office of the professional department of Weitong, said that she had to be consulted for a lot of work. On weekends, everyone lined up one after another like a lantern, making her often busier than usual, working almost until eleven or twelve o’clock every night. Everyone sees her hard work, and it hurts in her heart.
She sometimes asks herself: whether you work hard or not, the result will be much worse. How to choose? Do you want to choose to bloom in a limited number of years, or do you want to be mediocre and happy? Because she often looks to the future, she is still afraid to relax today when she is over half a year old. "Scientific research is grinded out.
