Li Kuiwen, director of the Statistics and Analysis Department of the General Administration of Customs, introduced that the total value of China’s foreign trade import and export maintained a positive growth year-on-year for 13 consecutive months. The scale of import and export reached the best level in the same period in history and continued to maintain a stable and positive trend.

In the first half of the year, China’s total foreign trade import and export value increased by 27.1% year-on-year.

According to customs statistics, in the first half of this year, the total import and export value of China’s foreign trade was 18.07 trillion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 27.1%. Among them, exports were 9.85 trillion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 28.1%; Imports reached 8.22 trillion yuan, up 25.9% year-on-year.

Private enterprises have become an important force for China’s foreign trade growth

Customs statistics show that in the first half of this year, the import and export of private enterprises in China was 8.64 trillion yuan, up 35.1% year-on-year, which became an important force for the growth of China’s foreign trade. At the same time, China is actively exploring new markets and optimizing the global market layout.

ASEAN has become China’s largest trading partner.

In the first half of the year, China’s imports and exports to ASEAN, the European Union, the United States and Japan were 2.66 trillion yuan, 2.52 trillion yuan, 2.21 trillion yuan and 1.18 trillion yuan, up 27.8%, 26.7%, 34.6% and 14.5% respectively. ASEAN is China’s largest trading partner, accounting for 14.7% of China’s total foreign trade.

In the same period, China’s imports and exports with countries along the Belt and Road totaled 5.35 trillion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 27.5%.

According to customs statistics, in the first half of the year, China’s general trade import and export was 11.19 trillion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 30.7%; The export of mechanical and electrical products was 5.83 trillion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 29.5%.
